About Me

I am fascinated by the history of the ideas and systems that have shaped our current world. I studied colonialism and the fight for self-determination in India and West Africa during my undergraduate degree at N.Y.U. The study of power dynamics and the social systems that arise from them continues to inform my work.

I am early in my journey, but have had the opportunity to be exposed to different approaches to ‘impact’ from vastly different types of stakeholders.  From writing about innovative social enterprises at HuffPost Impact, to supporting corporations to align with the SDGs at the UN Foundation Business Council,  and working with the Fund for Global Human Rights to provide support to grassroots human rights activists.

I have constantly been straddling separate, often opposing worlds: of identifying as at once Indian and not Indian; pursuing commercial solutions and redistributive philanthropy to tackle global challenges; of understanding the modes of operating of the ‘global north’ and the ‘global south’.

I am more comfortable working and thinking at the intersections: that place in between: The Ecotone the transitional area between two communities. A place  that can be messy, but also offers the fertile ground for innovation.
