Hi, my name is Lavanya. This is what i am working on:

Amplifying insights from the grassroots to better inform decision-makers

&

Creating radically inclusive processes for the design and implementation of impact interventions

More capital is being channeled to social and environmental good today at an increasing pace, through traditional philanthropy, impact investing and blended finance. However, there is also an ever expanding distance between those with the means to allocate capital and innovate potential solutions to challenges, and the communities most affected by those challenges.

In the rush to do more good we are simplifying issues and making impact as easy to think about and measure as financial metrics, perpetuating a narrow, short-term approach that fails to address the root causes of many issues.

I wish to see an impact ecosystem that is more radically inclusive and transformative of our systems and structures that no longer serve our common prosperity. I believe this must start with forging deeper human connections, listening to the unheard voices, learning and re-building together.

I hope to work towards this goal by facilitating deeper communication and equitable long-term collaboration between capital allocators, social purpose organisations and affected communities.

So this is what i am doing …

Ecosystem Mapping

I am conducting a study to assess how stakeholders within the impact ecosystem in India are listening to and engaging with the end communities they are seeking to help. Research on and conversations with asset owners, asset allocators, intermediaries and social purpose organisations are unveiling current industry approaches, best practices and challenges remaining in creating truly inclusive processes.

Grassroots Reporting &

Co-design

Aggregating and amplifying insights on the context and challenges from grassroots communities to better inform decision-makers of what is needed.

Facilitating radical collaboration between affected communities and impact stakeholders.

Work with Adolescent Girls

The voices of girls in India, as in many other parts of the world are underrepresented and undervalued. Yet it is necessary that they are heard and are part of the process of rebuilding the fabric of our society.

I am starting with asking the following: What are the interests, dreams and aspirations of girls from different backgrounds across India? How can these be further nurtured?
